Supervision for Therapists

In Austin, TX supervision sessions, a variety of topics may be explored, such as ethics, legal issues, assessment, techniques of counseling, and application of theories. Supervisors sometimes ask supervisees to bring case notes and/or videotaped client sessions for discussion. If appropriate, supervision groups of therapists in Austin may also discuss issues related to starting and maintaining a private practice.

The relationship between a supervisor and supervisee allows the supervisor to model techniques and provide ideas that the supervisee may then apply in his or her sessions with clients. It also provides supervisees an opportunity to gain insight into transference and countertransferance reactions that occur in sessions with clients.
