My approach to counseling involves an emphasis on the "whole" person, rather than just the "symptoms" or negative outcomes that the client may be experiencing. In counseling sessions, we will explore the mind/body connection as a way for individuals to utilize their inner resources for stress management and improved mental health.
My counseling practice also values the uniqueness and point of view of individuals. We will work together to establish a relationship based on mutual respect and healthy interpersonal boundaries. When clients establish an interpersonal connection to a counselor in a safe, non-judgmental environment, they are able to relax and gain insight into their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors.
I have a great deal of experience working with diverse populations and am sensitive to cross-cultural differences. I also have extensive experience working with a variety of mental health concerns - e.g., eating disorders, weight management, substance abuse/chemical dependency, depression, anxiety, and life changes.
I look forward to meeting you to discuss the unique personal benefits that you can gain from your experience in counseling.
